Flat battery
Folks
Bought MY07 WRX two weeks ago - haven't really used it except for a trip to Gatwick on Monday. Went to start the car last night - battery totally dead.
Is 2 years a reasonable battery life in these cars? I have a sigma alarm - I don't know if thats whats causing the problem.....
Is the battery replaceable under the Proven Warranty I wonder?....

A battery won't hold it's charge indefinately. If you consider the memory saver for the radio and the alarm it will eventually discharge the battery. Just to give you a idea of timescale, I think the battery is a 45 amp per hour battery. This means that if the battery is discharged at 45 amps it will be flat in about 1 hour like wise if the battry is discharged at 1 amp the battery will discharge in about 45 hours.
I had the same thing last november left the car for two weeks with alarm on and the battery was flat. Got it jump started and went for a twenty(ish) mile drive to charge it. The battery has been fine ever since.
