Default New remote for Alarm?

This is probably an annoying, common question but just a quick little one.

I bought the Silver 99 wagon in the for sale section (I will introduce myself and the car properly when I get some nice pics and a wash done this weekend)

But the remotes for the alarm are broken so cant attach them to my keys, theyre Subaru fobs so Im guessing theyre pretty standard?

How do I go about getting new ones programmed? Main dealer?

Thanks for any help and Im looking forward to getting involved in the community!

Tom

Main dealer may charge you, but it can be done for free, the programming that is. As long as one remote works, and you know your PIN code. If not, you can change that.
New fobs are about 35 quid new from Subaru, although I wouldn't do that if they just don't clip on to your keyring, but its up to you.

Welcome to Scooby ownership by the way.

one of mine broke a few weeks ago - the operating button fell apart! quote from subaru main dealer for a replacement £250 + vat.
put a query on a parts search engine - got one from impreza breakers ltd for £25 + vat, however had to have it reprogrammed by subaru dealer at a cost of £58 + vat

They are definetly 35 quid, I've bought one and got the part number on this site somewhere. Watchman you must be talking about a newage key with the akram fob built in or something for that price.
They can also be programmed in for free, the link is on here too.
I think they are good alarms, once you have the PIN there are loads of good features you can turn off or on.

that did sound a bit much for a ten year old car lol
cheers joey

I will search for all the bits I need to program it etc when I get a new remote

Yeah mine seems good, the previous owner, seems to have got a few good bits working. Doors lock with ignition on, imobiliser comes on after 30 seconds if you dont start it, and if you shut the door and walk away it locks and alarm sets all good to me!

I would try a local ICE dealer that does Sigma products as i got 2 X supplied and programed for £80. Subaru charge an aram and a leg for doing it.

It only took them 10 mins to do.
Only down side its not a Subaru remote but to save nearly £200 from a dealer it was a no brainer.

Where you at ?

I dont get it, surely it wont be £200 for a remote for a classic impreza??

If it is then finding a local shop with Sigma stuff sounds a good plan, they program them for you then?

Im in Derbyshire, near Chesterfield mate.

Cheers for the tips

Default AC 38 AC110?

Hi All.

I have a 1998 UK MY99 Turbo2000 with a Sigma alarm. I have one working fob.

Please can you tell where I can buy a new fob please. Programming it sounds easy enough.

ps I live in Mallorca Spain so it would need to be mail order

I've seen generic ones on FleaBay AC38? (but some saying they will supply a AC110 as this is the new replacement for the 38) .

Where do I look to see the model of alarm I have ie M10,M20 etc?

Please help, while I still have one working fob ! lol

Many thanks , Ralph

Ralph, ebay is your best bet then.
While you do have one working fob, change your PIN on the alarm to something you remember. Its on the same link.

Thanks Joey. I will change my PIN code at least that way I am safeguarded. I will look on eBay and try and get a new Subaru remote.

I paid £17,000 for my Scoob! Well that was a while ago !
