Smile Front foglight stone chip protection

Just bought some replacement foglights off fleabay.

Does anyone know of a way to protect them from stones once they are fitted.
Have been thinking about some heavy duty clear sticky plastic to cover the lens, but don't know if this will affect their beam projection. The same sort of thing you can put on the faces of mobiles and PDAs but a bit more heavy duty.

I would have thought the yanks might have had something but no joy yet.

Scoob dealers used to sell clear plastic clip-on protectors for a few quid, they worked. Worth asking, or looking on e-bay.

I've got some of the clip on protectors for a classic. Good condition yours for £30 if you want them.
