hi guys if this is in the wrong place etc then please remove or move to appropriate place thanks. my works van is a 2000 x reg astra 1.7dti and i have changed the battery and had a new alternator but when i rev it past 2500 rpm the battery light comes on and eventually kills the battery. any help please guys would be nice as im a self employed plumber.

Simplest question, is it a diesel engine battery or a petrol engine battery?
