Have a look in "Interior" a guy has recently done a full "how to".

I'd say NOT difficult, but fairly time-consuming if you've not ever done owt similar........half, to a full, day.

Certainly NOT beyond the skills of an enthusiastic amateur

Here you go: https://www.scoobynet.com/interior-1...ure-boost.html

Mate, I have fitted the exact same kit to my 04 WRX. It took me a full day and was pretty straight forward to do. Just make sure you get everything you need before hand and you will be fine. Also, depending on how much of a rush you are in but you can get the dials from the US if you don't mind waiting. Save yourself a few quid ! If I can be any help just let me know.

Wilky.

Here's the link mate: Prosport Gauges - Gauges

Basically I ordered from their web site and they took about two weeks to arrive. When they get to the UK you have to pay a customs charge ( about £20 ) and then that's it. The thing is, this was when the pound / dollar exchange rate was a lot better than it is now !!!

I bought the pod from here:
Scoobyparts Ltd ATI 3-GAUGE POD - NEW AGE

It's a really good fit and looks like it is a factory install. The gauges are easy to fit, the biggest job is running the wires neatly into the engine bay and keeping everything tidy. Honestly mate I am no expert and sorted it all in a day ! Hope this is of some help !

What he said^^^^^^^.

Can be done in less than a day, but I took my time, plenty of coffee and thought, and it ended well.

Mine was removed with a long 8mm hex wrench I bought specifically. It ended in a "T" and I applied a ring-spanner to one of the T-handles to give extra leverage. It came out easily.

But I do agree: use a GOOD 8mm hex wrench/bit and DO ensure it's well seated. Tapping it can't hurt either

anyone know the exact wiring i should do as this was the step i got to before calling it a day as it was too late?

Also put the alternator belt back on and it's squeeling a little, does that mean i need to tighten it more? didnt drive the car but just started it up.

Advise would be much apprecaited! Thanks

Philip

as a bit of an aside: I just fitted a new gauge 'panel' below the radio on my classic
..I used a section of door card to make it, so it has the same trim as the dash/doors etc.

looks canny I think - and better than ally or carbon stuff which just adds a new texture in teh cabin to my mind
<sorry, no photos>

Not sure I understand what you mean? WHAT stage did you get to?

Also: alternator belt: You really should have marked the tensioner bolt with white paint BEFORE moving it. Is it possible for the alternator to be slightly misaligned? If not, then it WILL be loose belt, but don't overtighten it, or it'll wear the alternator bearing, (expensive)
