HID help required
I recently bought some H4 HIDS from going 4 400bhp, he got them from one of bobs group buys, he had them fitted to his classic that he recently stripped.
I have fitted them to my 96 almera (sorry its not a scooby) and they work fine on dipped beam but dont work when I try full beam. I have tried a normal bulb back in and that does both fine but the HIDs wont do both. I spoke to going 4 400bhp and he says they was working fine when he had them.
I have checked how I fitted them and all seems fine with that, have ground the ballasts to the body and all connections on lights and ballasts are alright. Not sure what to do, if anyone has any ideas then please let me know.

well they work fine on dipped beam so that would say its all connected correctly and have also plugged normal h4 blubs into the old h4 connectors and the lights do both dipped and main beam.

As Bob said check the relay, there are two black wires which normally connect upto the wiring from the relay, this controls the switching mechanism. Apart from that it may be a relay fault....

If the lights were wired for a Subaru, they will have a problem with normal car wiring.
The Impreza headlights supply power to the common H4 bulb terminal when the lights are switched on. The dip switch then earths either the dip or main terminal. The HID kit is powered from that common terminal. On a normal car, the live feed is to the dip switch which sends it to either the dip or main terminal on the H4 bulb. The common terminal is permanently earthed. The HID kit gets powered only on dip beam.

just a little update I wired the lights into a mates Classic impreza like the car they come off and when he flicked from dipped to full nothing happened, so think there is a issue some where else.
Have now had to change back to normal bulbs which is a pain. Not sure what to do next.
