Question what component can i remove to disable car?

Hi

This is my 1st post, hopefully about to join the ranks of Scooby owners...

Unfortunately the car I'm getting (Japanese 98 STI v4) is not covered for theft on the insurance until it's fitted with a tracking device - due to the time I'm picking it up it's going to have to be stored overnight without immobilizer, alarm, tracker or insurance

Where it will be parked it will have to be driven away (couldn't get a truck in there) - I don't suppose anyone could suggest a component that I could easily remove (and replace) which will stop it being moved (and that a thief won't think of).

Really looking forward to the new car - would be absolutely gutted if it got nicked on the 1st night!

Thanks in advance
Pete

Great, thanks - I assume reconnecting is also a 2 minute job

Forgive my ignorance, but will any special tools be required or is it just plug/unplug the connector? I assume this is the fella somewhere down here:

Thanks again for the advice - hope the potential thief isn't reading these instructions

An easy spot for a thief though, if they do decide to have a quick peek under the bonnet, and easily replaceable

My thoughts too - had considered the battery first... the crankshaft position sensor sounds like a good plan - it's going to take a clever thief to diagnose that

Waiting for a phone call now on the result of the AA vehicle inspection which will determine if I'm getting it or not. The suspense is killing me

Your welcome, good luck with the inspection, and happy motoring.

Take the fuel pump fuse out aswell, that'll have them stumped. Allthough if I was leaving mine uninsured etc for the nite I'd be camping in it lol.

Theres a big green fuse connected somewhere in line with the oxygen sensor: without that the car dies...
