Default Programming keyless entry on Impreza WRX (Hawkeye) 2007

Hi, Just wondering if anybody knows how to program the keyless remote LOCK/UNLOCK part of the key head on a 2007 IMPREZA WRX. I know that on older models you could go through a sequence i.e ignition switch ON and OFF 10 times in 15 seconds etc... but I have no idea how to program new style. I read somewhere that on the FORESTER you unclip the kick panel on the drivers side next to accelerator and connect the white plastic connector together. I have unclipped mine and I do have a white connector but it does nothing when I try to program it. It does however stop operation of the UNLOCK/LOCK when it is connected together!!!.

Not bothered about transponder programming just the remote Unlock / Lock two button side of it.

Any ideas. Can't find a service manual anywhere either for 2007 (Hawkeye).

Thanks in advance.
