Default OBD II cable connection

I just got my cable from Tactrix, i have a 05 wrx and i cant see the point under the steering colum to connect the cable to, ive had a look at scoobypedia and openorg but i cant see where to connect it.
can some one help..... also
the little switch pannel to the left of the steering wheel where the fog light switch is and headlight adjuster is, just below that there is a wee door with a code panel in it what is it for? is it something to do with the immobiliser?

the obd plug is in the centre of the panel by your legs towards bottom,it might have a cover over it.
you should be able to see it as it is in the only recessed area.

the keypad is for the alarm to alter settings and stuff,it should explain it in hand book

This is what you are looking for. Will be near your knees and wasn't covered on my WRX 03 when I plugged in my ScangaugeII unit.

mine had a little plastic cover over the plug protecting the contacts
