boot switch
I have a problem with the boot switch on my saloon.
the light in the boot is always on and when i press the boot switch down with my finger the light still stays on.
this is affecting my alarm as it thinks the boot is open.
How do I find out whats wrong with the switch? What could be wrong with it?

you need to trace the wire that comes from the switch as it is trapped some where along its length and is touching bare metal! which is why the light is staying on its could also be at the point at which the alarm connects to it ther will be another wire soldered to it some where probably close to the switch the wire also goes close to the mechanism for the boot these are the thin metal rods that go from one side of the boot to the other under the parcel shelf in the boot its possible that these have caught the wire andworn the insulation off exposing it to bare metal either way the wire is definatly touching bare metal somewhere..
