Question Help Please

I have my car on a battery conditioner, the other week I started the car after a couple of weeks not doing and it just about started.
Yesterday I tried starting it all the ignition ligts etc came on but the car wouldnt start Ijust 'ticked' very loudly without firing up. Does anyone have any ideas??

had the same on my motor, make sure connections are connected tightly, if not replace the battery.

You could just jump start the motor and take the car for a drive just to get sme juice back in the battery. (short term plan but only time till the battery gives up)

Sorry ! Bit abrupt, the battery could be on it's last legs, or the alternator is leaking current through the diodes. You may have a Tracking Device that's using too much power ( not going into sleep mode after a period of time).

Same happened with my 03 STI. Currently use a battery conditioner now, but ended up having 3 batteries under warranty. Current one is a VARTA.

as I mentioned the battery is ona conditioner, but is now quite old and has not been replaced, what is the approx cost of a new battery?
