Question

Can anyone recommend what uprated bulbs are best to put in my headlamps instead of the standard bulbs? The lights at night, aren't the best in the world......
Also,Any links where to get them from greatly appreciated?
Finally, are they easy to install yourself and if so,how?

Cheers guys!

Nick..

Cool

Before i changed to morettes i had PIAA bulbs in my MY01,
I bought then from D R Motorsport as a pack together with brighter sidelight bulbs, cost was around £50-60, i had them fitted during a service so not sure how easy they are to put in.

Just put Phillips Vision Plus & Blue vision sidelights in mine. Much brighter and whiter. very easy to fit. Get them from powerbulbs.com. You need H4's and they cost £19.50 plus you get the sidelights free. Bargain.

Have you looked in you hand book???

Main lights are access by squeezing the rubber holder & protector at the back of the light and pulling out. Note this requires a big squeeze and a big tug!! Ohh er

The sidelights are harder to get at but easier to fit. I fitted mine with the lights removed (cos I painted the light innards) so it was east. A quarter turn on the grey holder and they pull out. Having looked at where they are with the lights in..... prepare to lose some skin off your knuckles!!!

Might be easier to remove the lights which is a simple job. See here for details http://www.scoobymods.com/mods/wrx/clearlight.php

Well,Some advice for those thinking of changing/upgrading head/side lamp bulbs on the MY01........
I found it easier (As others have said!) to actually remove the front grille and vents next to headlamps and then unbolt the three 10mm bolts holding the headlights onto the car and totally remove the headlamp units and change the bulbs with the units off the car.Instead of struggling removing the wiring connectors firstly, undo the unit and then pull it out as far as you can.You then gain better access to the connectors.I'm no whizzkid when it comes to fixing cars (Computers is my game!!! ) so if I can do it,then anyone can!

Cheers,

Nick..
