Default HID Install

going to get round to installing my on sat, if it dont rain. but just been reading where people are putting there ballasts,

Is there any reason why you are sticking it inside the bumper or is it thats there no room in the engine bay.

Could you stick it to the inside wing, do they surfer from heat from the engine?

Its on a MY99, really need to get these do, beening driving with candle for to long

I put the left ballast on the battery clamp, and the right ballast on the inside of the wing.
The lights are so much better than the standard units.

Wink

HID ballasts don't suffer massively from heat, but don't tie 'em to the engine block

Mine are zip-tied to the two bars behind the grille, either side of the radiator.
They have been there for 5 years with no problems, but they ARE OE Hella ones

I fitted mine behind the headlights using sikaflex to secure the brackets ...moving the horn bracket & battery out the way makes the job a bit easier & i fitted the HID relay in the gap of the fusebox.
