Red flashing Key on Subaru Impreza WRX STI

Red flashing Key on Subaru Impreza WRX STI
Any ideas? - I think its just started havent changed anything, just noticed it this morning when i removed my key. Think this appears just below mileage thingy!

I think that is the display for the OEM immobiliser(flashing = on)

Excellent - I'm presuming this is a good thing?
Im a total nerd and have no idea about cars, its my otherhalfs car that I'm allowed to drive for 6 days a week lol

Yes. It is factory std on the newage cars.

i was gonna ask this same question,i guess ive not sat in the car long enough with the keys out to notice it,
