Hi All,

I noticed the other day that one of my number plate bulbs had blown, so I dully went and bought a replacement. I decided that I would change them this weekend.

To my horror and annoyance, Subaru had decided to fit mild steel fasteners to the covers for the bulbs. These have rusted away so badly that they look like pop rivets :mad

On closer inspection I noticed that the other light had been drilled out because that side had obviously blown in the past. What a nightmare :mad

I asked my local Subaru dealer whom I have a warranty with and they said that it was not covered because it was corrosion. :mad

I'm now going to have to drill out this side as well.

The moral of the story is to go and check yours and replace the fasteners with something a little more substansial before it's too late

Cheers

Gazza

What type bulbs did you get ? Both mine have blown.
Do you have a code or type so I get the right one.
Mine is a 98MY so I assume the same type bulbs

Thanks m8

Know what you mean mate. When mine went in for 1st service after I got it (MY97) they had a hell of a time getting numberplate lights changed. How shortsighted can Subaru be to fit these screws on the most vulnerable part of the car.
Wonder what it is in newer models.
