52 plate WRX Sti
Hi guys,
Nice forum :-0 lots of good info for me as ive just bought a new 52 plate toy
A couple of questions please if you dont mind.
I have on the drivers side about knee high a flap that drops down that has membrane buttons with a flashing led on it, any idea's as too what his is for?????
Also the standard alarm\immobiliser on the key, any idea's as to the make and if a window closure mod is availiable.
Thanks in advance

I can help with the first bit - it's one of the 2 fuse boxes - if you pull it right out many of the fuses are behind it. The manual goes into more detail, there is also a fuse box under the bonnet on the right as you look at it.
Not sure about the key.

Ive got a 52 WRX and if your describing what I think you are its the keypad for the alarm system. If you have got the blue manual 'Category 1 Alarm System Operating Instructions' then section 4 talks about using the keypad. As to the window closing, I cant see it mentioned but I wouldnt mind that as I used to have it on my Golf and it was great not to have to check the windows were always shut. Or am I just lazy !

Hi guys
Thanks for the replies, i dont think i have the cat 1 manual (can it be downloaded?)
Hahahaha i still have my golf and thats what i keep doing as the Golf has total closure (think i must be lazy too)lol
Not really had time to drive it yet as ive been busy till quite late in the evening and it needs a good clean.
How do you clean the seats on the STi as it looks like some funny material (they have the blue in the middle of the seats)
Hope fully the weather will be fine this weekend then i can give it a good going over.
MAnaged to download a couple of manuals but nothing special, but ill keep looking.
Any one got any good reading material that i could go and get or download.
Again many thanks
Gaz

Just had a look through the Alarm book that came with my STi (mines a '53'plate blobeye model, view my scoob for more details). Unfortunately there is no mention about the windows. You can however do a few things with the system. Such as have the doors auto-lock when you turn on the ignition as well as have a warning beep when you open the doors etc..

Hi fella
Thanks for the reply, i have managed to change a few things on the alarm :-)
I was just wondering if i need to go directly to the Window relay or to the console switches on the drivers door card.
Think ill pull her to bits this weekend and have a look around.
Again many thanks
Gary
