Help, dahboard lights come on :-(
hi all
new to this forum and only got a forrester not a scooby, but hope you guys can help anyway.
we have a 2002 forrester 2.0 xrt, actually a french car as we live in france now, a light has come on the dash, orange light looks a bit like the engine if you know what i mean, in our french manual it says its an omd? no idea what that is, the manual is in french.
does anyone know where i could get an english handbook from and what this light might be about?
many thanks in advance

I know its been a few days but I have only just seen this post!!
I dont know it will be the same but my old 2001 bug eye Impreza did that about 100 miles (on a long drive) after I had my de-cat exhaust system fitted. The light was the same and the manual said the same thing (omd). What it turned out to be was a senser in the cat that measured how clean the gasses were coming out of the cat and as I had the cat removed there was no senser!!! I just got something that went in to the same plug that fooled the management system in to thinking the gasses were normal. If you have a cat in your exhaust its probably just the senser gone wrong or your cat is not working as it should.
Hope this helps.

Picked up my impreza gx 2002 last night and whilst driving it home (yes, first journey) the Engine management light came on!?
It has recently had a Lumbar sensor replaced which cured the engine management light from coming on but now it's come on again i'm a bit worried.
Any ideas on whether it could be the same thing as above?
I have heard, and this is only going interent reviews, that by puttign a lower grade of unleaded in could trip the engine management light in coming on. Is this rubbish??
