I couldn't understand why my Clifford seems to go off every time I go to visit my mum. I thought a neighbours cat might be frequenting that nice warm bonnet at this time of year but, it turns out to be the microwave oven!

Anyone else come across this, had their suspisions to false alarms or any suggestions in general.

Question

How do you know the microwave causes this?

If it does then I take it the microwave is leaking??!?!?

Every time you start the microwave up, the alarm sounds. The microwave was safety checked earlier this year.

If I leave my mobile in my Clifford-alarmed car, the alarm goes off if the 'phone rings!

I use to have a problem with leaves with my old proximity sensor on a Golf, that was a Clifford Eagle 2 with a single zone proximity sensor. The Scooby has a dual zone proximity sensor and I have had no problems with it. I suggest you unplug the sensor and see what happens then.

Cheers for that comment Ian,

I take it that you haven't sold your UK 300 rear spoiler!

Sorry but your comment was so irrelevant, I forgot what your name was!

That means that microwaves must be leaking out of the oven!

Does your Mum glow like the people on the old readybrek adverts???

I'd be a bit concerned about this myself.

Shaggyman, I'm not too bothered about selling my spoiler because i would only have to find another one when i come to sell my car.

Scott

BTW don't spam other people's posts if you don't want it done to you

My car is parked next to my kitchen and my microwave is about 4 feet from the car and I've never had a problem with it I have had the mobile phone problem though. Couldn't find it, so I rang it from my land line only to hear my car alarm go off!!!! I had left it in the scoob

When I parked my car in my garage the alarm (Clifford G4 Concept 300) was also going off.
It was the microwave.....the only way round it is to turn off the internal proximity sensor when I set the alarm...but its in a locked garage so I don't mind

I had the same thing (with the mobile phone) one night.... Alarm went off, I ran down to the car in just my boxer shorts and a basball bat (what a horrible sight!!!)!!!

Only to find out the mobile was on 'vibrate' and that is what set the alarm off!!!!

My mum's microwave has been leaking (also becoming ver inefficient) and my car has been parked outside the kitchen - no probs.... I've got an (OLD) Clifford Concept 50....

Hmmm - will have to keep an eye on it - if there's a problem, I'll have to get a newer one (a car, not the alarm!!!)
