Default MY92 -00 - Fog lamps and fittings the same?

I'm trying to find out if the fog lamps and the mounting holes are the same on the earlier cars 92-98 and the face lift 99-00.

I'm making some brackets that will hold new driving lamps you see!

Let there be light!

Question

My 97MY had the old style fogs on and I've swapped them for '00 crystal fogs... No difference in fittings - is that what you mean?

Mick

Question

The fixings are exactly the same wobf, I had crystal foglights on my facelift car, before swapping them for what I have now. I broke one of the older lights, and got the fogs from a dealer after they took them off a car to fit driving lamps, so only paid £30 the pair.

How are you getting on with the brackets? What lights are finally going on them? You should have them just about ready for light nights........

Alcazar,

Just in the process of making the brackets. I'm looking to find some spots with a flat back like the oscar plus to make mounting more rigid. I dont like the idea of the single mounting point that is used with most offerings I have seen.

BTW, thanks for the email. It was very informative!!

Cheers!

Default Brackets made!!

Ok, made some brackets, or rather the old man has!!

I'm still not sure if I want the single point mounting where you use the existing spotlamp fixing or if I'm going to find a pair of spots that have a flat back, like the cibie oscar plus. So thats why I have made 2 sets.

Cheers for the help people!!

Now you know why Oscar Plus' were used

Just a thought! -
If I recall correctly the original OP brackets were T shaped, to just pick up the mounting holes. A minimalist approach.
The full plate design you have gone for, may trap some water, and show through, from behind.

Never thought of that!

They are 3mm thick though and will be painted the same colour as the car so no worries I think. I would imagine that the car will rot before these brackets do! LOL!

The other reason for them being the shape they are is that I can cut this shape easier than cutting a T shape from similar material.

Thanks anyway.
