Default "whitest" bulbs???...

I've just had one of my Phillips Night Vision 2 bulbs blow. The bulbs themselves were superb, but I've seen a few cars about recently with a "whiter" look to them- almost HID white, can anyone suggest anything?

Could be HID's of course. We have a group buy on aftermarket conversions, no doubt others are too, so you can see HID's on cars you don't expect to have them.

Piaa bulbs "may" be slightly better than other bulbs but not worth it at twice the price. The wipers are a complete waste of money when compared to the likes of Bosch

Just checked out the price of the PIAA's... Thems expensive!!!
As these are only for my 56 plate ford transit I think it may be overkill!
Any other ideas...

Buy one get one free Halfords super brilliance. Not the absolute best perhaps but 99% as good for 20% of the cost. They're really very good.

Have bought the Halfords bulbs and fitted them today. Theres no doubt they are a good bulb but a totally different colour light to my old Phillips ones. I fitted one initially to compare them- its quite a big difference.
Perhaps it's just me being picky but i think a 'whiter' light looks nicer.

Seconded. I've had PIAA in the past and yes they're great bulbs, but let's be honest here - £60 is too much to pay for a pair of H4s. And they were the cheap ones IIRC, five years ago!

PIAA are suckers bulbs. far too expensive. I never understand why people just do the bulbs. get a relay kit fitted and some good spec bulbs like Phillips or even the halfords ones and see the result.

people who have spent the money on PIAA need to justify it to themselves.. so defend them in threads like this! Also they ar every cheap in Malaysia etc. so why so expensive here?
