how do i change my dials
hi all
i have a uk spec 1997 impreza turbo and would like to change the dials as i have bought a kit.(speedo, temp, petrol,revs)
its a pre face dashboard
i removed the soroundings but i cant get the actual console to come out.
how do i do this please?

AFAIK, pre-facelift models had mechanical speedos, so it's possibly the speedo cable holding it in.
You have to get your hand up the back, feel for the speedo cable, (thicker and stiffer than wire), slide your hand up towards the speedo, then squeeze the clip you'll feel there, while pulling the cable away from the speedo. It should release, but can be a b*gger to squeeze in the right place. I remember trying for ages to get the dials out of a Mk1 Escort
