speedo not working

speedo not working
hello all
my speedo has packed up on the car subaru want a small fortune for a new one wanted to know if i could fit a sti set to my car
it is a u.k car on a 98 wagon is a pre face lift with the digital miles on
or will i have to fit a standard set of dials back in ?
have seen some sti ones but they rev to 9000 rpms and the standard only go to 8000 rpms
all help on this would be greatly appreciated
