Post Help, Beeping Indicator????????

I've got an MY94 WRX and, before x-mas fitted some Sti rear lights. Looks well smart. Anyway, I havent driven my car since last Sunday, and all was fine then, but, now when I indicate right it beeps. I've had a look and it seems to me that it's the bulb holder thats beeping.

If i take the bulb out it beeps faster, as it would if the bulb had blown. Now it really doing my ******* head in.

Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, what can I do to make it stop? I don't think I can take it anymore, and if the left hand one starts doing it, I think I'll have a nervous breakdown.

Cheers in advance,

Micky

Question

There is a certain type of flasher relay that emits a beeping noise. It's generally used when a towing electrics kit is fitted, and will emit a beep when the trailer flashers ARE working. It's a legal requirement, apprently in order for the driver of the vehicle towing the trailer to check his trailer indicators are in order, either audible or visual warning.

Could your vehicle ever have been fitted with a towbar? If so, changing the flasher relay back to a standard one, may do the trick.

Mickey from memory thats exactly what your problem is, haven't you gto a detachable tow bar or did??

have you changed any wiring or bulbs since you fitted?? sounds like it is seeing a bigger current draw than normal.................

Thumbs up

Cheers. Time to get the spanners out and undo the damage done by the previous owner. Tow bar + Scooby = NO

Thanks.

Micky.

No no no, not unless you'll never want it.

Just remove the offending "towing" relay, and replace it with a standard one. Jobe done in 2 minutes!
