Sigma alarm making bird song
I had a strange problem earlier that maybe somebody can help me with.
Earlier today my Sigma alarm started making strange noises. It was making the arm/disarm noise and some strange noises that can only be described as very loud bird song.
This lasted for about half an hour while I had the bonnet up and stared at it.
As far as I can tell it was because the grommit the wire to the siren goes through had allowed some water in. Is there any other reason why this might have happened?
Has anybody else seen anything like this, and if so what did you do?
Thanks,
James

Had this on a MY02 STi. Did the bird song bit for a few days at random intervals then started going off, full wah wah wah at 02:00 (obviously, wouldn't happen mid afternoon would it?).
Took it back to the dealers who diagnosed an alarm problem and got Sigma in who fitted a new battery pack to the alarm unit. Was told the battery pack on the alarm siren was duff and the alarm saw the falling voltage and thought it was being stolen. Problem sorted.

The sigma does have a low battery voltage warning chirp - but its one chirp every two mins or so (usually as you go to start the car)
The bird song sounds more like the internal back up battery is duff, as described in the first post.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try and get somebody to look at it. Unfortunately it's in an airport car park at the moment, hope it's not causing them too much trouble
