Default Rear windscreen element question

Hi,

One of the bars on my rear windscreen is not de-misting since there is a minute break in the circuit due to a tiny scratch - no wider than a hair. I suspect this is from the pram wheels rattling around in the boot under excessive 'G'-forces. Yes. It is a wagon.

Anyway, I'm sure that I once heard that these could be repaired easily with some form of pen. Does anyone know how/what/where/how much?

Any other creative ideas welcome e.g. milk bottle top, paperclip, pram in the front seat...

Thanks.
