Rear Window

Rear Window
Hi guys, hope someone can help here. Had my car about 6 months now and the rear window demister has never worked. It is now getting to that stage in the year when I could do with it working.
I knoow when the person I bought the car of first got the car themself it had tinted windows, he didn't like them so obviously took them off. My question is in taking the tints off is it likely he has it broken it? Or is there just a simple wire that has been unplugged to stop it bubbling when the tints were on?
Thank you in advance.

You can see the wires to it, one either side, (at least, you can on my '98 car).
I'd have thought that taking the tints off MIGHT damage one or two strips, but not all.
Check the fuse and the relay.
If both are OK, buy yourself a circuit tester, and check if you have power to it, and a good earth from it.
If all is OK, and it still don't work, I'd be inclined to get a new screen fitted.
Then, if it still doesn't work, say: "well it did before you took the screen out.......:".
