Fog lights on an import Legacy
As you may have gathered from my other threads, I've just bought an import Legacy B4 RSK (now arriving Thursday)
It's got this crappy foglight screwed to the underside of the bumper to get it through SVA and I'm wondering if it's possible (and legal and will pass an MOT) to do one of the following.
1) Purchase a bright red bulb, put it in place of the drivers side reverse light and wire it up to the fog light switch
2) Fit a UK spec light cluster to the B4 without it looking daft

Short story: '00 B4 Blitzen sedan got rear-ended taking out the in-bumper foglight (done for SVA). 2 months later got new bumper from Japan, no foglight obviously. Told repairers not to cut into it (too scared of a ruined bumper/another 2 months!). Meanwhile had been in touch with Andrew Hendry at David Hendry Cars (www.dhcars.co.uk) and asked what they did with leggys that they import. Upshot is they rewired the inner rear lights, the ones on the bootlid to be foggers. Wiring and switch already there so not too tricky, not sure if they changed the bulbs (?) but about as bright as the brake lights. Nice, clean solution ,I was tempted to go the £10 Halfrauds route mounted behind the diffuser mesh but this is much better.
Hope this helps.
