Replacement bulbs
I just won an auction on Ebay for xenon H4 bulbs for the scoob. They are being sent from Canada, the sellers says they are a direct replacement for the standard bulbs but with an increase in performance but with no extra current draw. I'm a bit worried that my wiring loom may turn to dust if they are the wrong ones. Also seller claims they are HID (only cost a tenner!?), hmm- no so sure about these.
Any reasurance/nitemares for similar products? ...

What wattage does it say they are? If there just the same but blue then there's no need to worry, to be honest i've bought loads like that and there fine really. My mate bought the 100W versions and he upgraded his loom to suit, however u might get away with it!

The bulbs are called "eurodezigns zenon bulbs", there is no mention of wattage at any point. I'll wait till they arrive and see what wattage they are. Thanks fella, much appreciated.

I bought two pairs of these bulbs about a year ago (from the same guy, by the sounds of things). Whilst they were painless to fit and looked pretty good in the dark, they were more or less useless for fast night-time driving on the type of roads we have round here and were worse then the OEM bulbs fitted to my 00MY turbo. Replaced them with Osram SilverStars within a couple of weeks.
I bought them unboxed and therefore substantially discounted, so no great loss. They are pretty distinctive, though, and are ok for town or lit road driving. Just don't go near the twisties with them.
I still have an unused pair, if anyone wants to make me an offer
