Almost everyone seems to agree that pre-MY01 Impreza standard headlights more or less suck. But I haven't seen a lot written about MY01 lights apart from the looks.

So how are they in terms of light quality ? I suppose better than old shape because the reflector shape is better on the bug eyes. And once on the topic, how do the MY01 Morettes (projector type) perform ?
I'm looking for improved dipped beam. High beam is easily improved by swapping the foglights with driving lights.

Since the Jap-spec Xenon lights (Far better looking than bug eyes/Morettes IMHO) are not available in Europe I'm trying to find the next best thing...

The quality of the MY01 original lights is very good and I did have concerns swapping to the better looking Morrettes

I was not dissapointed I upgraded my bulbs to Osram +50%

There is also an HID option but IMHO unless you have money to burn the Lights on there own are perfectly up to the job
