Erratic drivers door window
#1
Posted on behalf on a friend:
The drivers door window rolls down fine the first time you operate it (rolls up fine). If you try to lower the window again, you just get a click.
If you turn the ignition off then on again, the window works fine again but only the first time you use it.
I'm thinking it's a faulty earth but would appreciate ideas if anyone has encountered something similar.
If anyone has a wiring diagram for the window, this would also be appreciated.
Thanks
Gavin

This could be a window position sensor problem. It could not be realising that you have put the window to the top and still think it is at the bottom so it just clicks and doesn't actually do anything. Turning the ignition off and back on could be resetting it.
I've had this on a car before but don't know whether this would be the case in the Scooby or what to do about it. Check that there are no damaged wires in between the door and the body of the car. Sorry I can't be more help.
