Hi Pete

Take any dash illumination wire from the back of any switch that's illuminated. Check it with a test lamp first! I think subaru change wiring colour quite often...

I picked up illumination from the ash tray.

Wire them in parallel, otherwise one blowing will put the whole set out.

2 bulbs draw 14A??? That's 84W a bulb at 12V - I think you're a bit out! I'd guess at around 0.5A each. If they're designed for a car, you don't need a rheostat unless you want a dimmer control.

I hope this is a) right and b) makes sense

Nick.

Question

OK all you guru`s here`s 3 for u, not as difficult as the usual but hey

Just fitted 5 gauges and want to wire the lighting up on them.

1/ What colour of cable is a switched positve on the interior lighting circuit (comes on when side/head lights turned on)
in a 94 WRX?

2/ Should the lamps be wired in series or parallel ?

3/ What size (ohms) of rheostat should they go through ? 2 Bulbs draw 14Amps if that helps.

Cheers

Pete
