Talking Morrettes 01 wrx

Morrettes, I found my L/H head light had a fekked relay, ie rusted from road salt over the winter, So i changed it ensuring it was the same as the old one.
Tried it and still the same problem.
Both headlights remain on when on dip, goto main beam however and it blows the 15 amp fuse for the L/H headlight.
Any ideas, or previous experience would be great.
Cheers.

Question

May not be the relay. It could be a bad piece of wiring INSIDE the LH headlight, eg: what if the live feed to it is in contact with earth?

Start by disconnecting the feed to it from the relay. Does it still blow the fuse? If so, it could be the relay. If not, reconnect it, but disconnect it AT THE LAMP. Try again.
If it blows the fuse now, the wire between relay and lamp has an earth fault, and needs looked at/replaced. If not, reconnect it to lamp, but have a good look at the lamp wiring at the same time, especially the wire to the bulb....make sure there is no short circuit.

If all this is OK, but it STILL blows fuse, suspect the bulb!

Unhappy

Cheers for reply m8, i´ve had a good butchers at it 2day and found that the replacement relay may well be the wrong one so i ordered a different one this afternoon, To top that off one of the pins going to rh sidelight decided to break while diconnecting, Thats it its never coming out in the winter again,
After only two years and corrosion set in on connectors,

so when its sorted all connetions are getting a liberal dose of batt grease,

Cheers 4 ur help ill let u know if i sort it.
