MY03 driving lights update, Prodrive, WR1?
Anyone got any news on bumper inserted driving lights for the MY03s? (the ones that sit where the fogs do on the MY03 WRX).
Lot of fuss about them (and lack of any) before Xmas - promises of Prodrive ones but nothing appeared.
Now rumours the WR1 will have driving lights instead of fogs that were on the launch car - anyone sure or got a part number?
Seen some on a specC from Japan, where I'm told they are a standard option, however not been able to find them on Jap websites such as JapanParts.com, nor find out what make they are OR what pattern they chuck out (PIAA do three identical driving lights but with different patterns of light from having different lenses).
Cheers.

The WR1 at Autosport show had what appeared to look very much like driving lights. Why do you say the launch car had fogs?
There were rumours of HID driving lights for the WR1 but they were conventional blubs in the one I saw.

From a few second hand accounts I read on here - I take it you saw them and they were very clear lenses on them not at all like the mad ones you get on the WRX fogs?

I'm very clear they were driving lights, as were the lenses.
But it was a prototype.
If it comes with fogs I'll be bitterly disappointed and will take the stanley knife to it until my Scoobysport HID Hella's fit the hole. Fog lights are for Nova drivers.

I'm sure the WR1 at the Autosport show had PIAA driving lamps fitted.
Can't remember the diameter of them just now, but think they tied up to the PIAA 600 Series - 110w driving lamps.
Need to see them again to be sure.

That's the show car at the Autosport show. As I said it was fitted with conventionally blubbed driving lights, this drawing confirms that.
But they said at the show it was a mock-up and might not have all the kit fitted. I was expecting normal driving lights on the WR1 but the Prodrive page says HID. Wait and see I guess.

We are still waiting for PIAA to get the parts to us.
BTW, SGM are a bodyshop and they were Prodrive Supplier of the Year supplying services (ie repairing and painting cars) not parts.

i rang sgm who said they produce replica parts and are going into lighting as an extra.they reckon they would sell gas discharge lights for £650.they do not have a website yet-probably in the next 6 months they told me.
mike i take it you will be making halogen and gas discharge as i am skint at the moment due to a track day car purchase.
thanks,martin
ps just noticed the photo above is of a wrc car with its driving lights!
