I am well and truely fed up of the crap lamps that are supplied with these things

You get more light out of a candle in a wet paper bag!
I have put in some uprate bulbs but they made no difference. Luckily I did not splash out on the PIAA extreme force bulbs I was after. Not only that one of the inner 'driving lamps the reflector is starting to bubble and peel! Can you get new lamp assemblies for them? Ie Piaa or equivalent? And can you convert the driving lamps to HID? Also what about the P1 driving lamps can they be converted to HID?

Thanks again

Question

What model of Morette are we talking here?

I have the ones that fit onto a classic car, and they are much better than the OE lights.

Are you sure you have them aligned properly? And the bulbs seated properly?

What uprated bulbs are you using? I have tried PVP, and GE 60% uprated, and would recommend both.

The P1 driving lights were HID as an option, and can be uprated to HID for about £500.

I'm looking into using the same HID driving lights, availble from Hella dealers, to put in the inner, main beam, positions in my Morettes, but I'm not about to do it while the weather is as crap as at the moment:

Yes its the morettes for a classic impreza. They were on my P1 one when I bought it. Yes the lamps are alligned properly. Yes they are seated correctly, I know this as I have had the units out and cleaned and reseated everything and reset the height.

I am running Bosch Xenon look bulbs at 20% uprating, and they are still pish. I would rather put the standard lamps back in as my old uk 4 door were a lot better than these things.

Thanks again

Wink

Try a set of Philips Vision Plus 50% uprated, or GE Megalight 60% uprated.
They're what I use in mine, and although not HID, they are quite good.

I know what you mean about H2:

I have Scoobysport HID driving lights on, and they are very good. At the moment , I'm toying with the idea of replacing the inner pair of lights with Hella HID units similar to the ones on the P1.

Cheers for that. Might splash out on those PIAA lamps and see what happens
