Ok ok,sounds a daft request but does anyone have a detailed guide to fixing the P1 driving lights to the bracket as im having a nightmare. It might be that i have parts missing but i cant seem to secure the lights to the brackets, the hole on the brackets that the adjusting screws go though seem to be too big, also how do the covers secure to the car as there is a hole on the covers for a securing screw but nowhere on the bumper to screw it into.
Apologies for being thick

I'll get my camera out and do few close up shots of the screws.

There's another bracket required for securing the surrounds in place, the back part of it mounts to the light bracket, the front part then projects forward towards the hole in the surround and allows the fitting of the securing screw.

I'll do you a pic of that as well.

I'd guess it's just a standard OEM bracket, like the ones that are used to fix the OEM fog blanks on the 99/00 bumpers.

Graham Goode do those sort of fitting kits, IIRC.

Some pics on the way.

Job still not done. The holes in the OE brackets are bigger than the head of the adjusting bolts.I see on Goldeneyes pics that there is a top hat style stopper which appears to attach to the bracket holding the lights in place,i do not have these stoppers so is there anyway i can get round this or are the driving lights i have totally useless
Getting desperate now

Try washers with hole of correct size, but larger outer diameter?
Available from bolt and nut stockists.

Alternatively, get exact dimensions, and I'll turn you some up from alloy!

I won't be able to trudge off to the shed and get the lights out until Thursday/Friday, but I'll see what can I sort out for you.

lol!

They will be going on my car soon.

I've been rather hampered by the fact then when I had my facelift bumper fitted I forgot to tell the bodyshop to remove the fog mounting plates from the old bumper and put them on the new one.

Didn't notice until I tried to fit the driving lights - and couldn't.

I've still got the mounting plates, fixings and the original bumper, it's just that it doesn't appear possible to refit the plates to the back of the fog area without taking the bumper off again.

Fingers crossed indeed.

I'll delay my trip the very cold shed pending the outcome of this.

And the story continues.....................
Ok i picked up the new driving lights today and they have come complete with the fore mentioned top hat stoppers so all happy again. But my new question is how do the lights secure to the bracket now.Im guessing the top hat plug thingys press onto the large bracket but how do the adjusting screws fix to the plugs? Do the hex nuts at one end of the bolts come off allowing it to be passed through the top of the stopper? im confused Looks like the shed is calling you GE [/b]

No need - I decided in the long run it was probably easier to move into the shed!

I haven't de-constructed mine to see how they go together (too scared in case I break them) but it would certainly seem that the top hats press into the bracket.

As for the bolts, which I assume are the adjusting screws, these just seem to screw into the top hat which then keeps the lamp attached to the bracket along with the help of the other two black 'things' (sorry for the use of the techie language! ) which can be found either side of the lamp unit arms that the bracket attaches to.

Erm, does that make any sense?

Mail me some pictures of your various bit and pieces if you like, might help a bit.
