My MY02 WRX has the STi 7 Headlights but the main beam bulb has gone. Anyone changed a bulb on these? If so, are they the same bulb as the normal bugeye bulbs (how much) and how much of the engine needs taking out to get to the bulb?!

Rusty,
The bulbs aren't the same as the bugeyes - STi (JDM) lights are HB3 / 9005 mains and H1 dipped whereas bugeyes are H4 hy-low (main & dipped combined) - can somebody confirm whether UK STi mains are the same bulb?
HB3 / 9005 bulb:
(from Autolamps website)
if they are the same as my jdm sti lights (also on a bugeye wrx ), then the main beam female connector (wire side) comes off with a flat bladed screwdriver into the connector to release a lug and then the complete bulb and plastic holder unit twists out as it's on a bayonet fitting - easy enough to do without taking out the lights AFAIR
