Question

I've noticed that the rear indicator light cluster on my 97 Scoob is starting to fill up with water!

Any ideas on how I can drain it and stop it refilling?

Or do I have to accept it, and buy a goldfish for it? I've considered Neons, but they're too tacky

Considered drilling a hole in the plastic or puncturing it somehow so far... but would prefer a less damaging solution.

Is there water in the boot under the carpets? Did you change the rear clusters?

Usually it is the seal around the rear clusters that causes the leak.

Yep - had a look on Sat when it was pouring with rain. The lights are the originals, but as you say, there's a couple of leaks at the top of the cluster, through the mastic.

I've tried to seal the edge of the light cluster itself, to hopefully stop it filling up more, but the inside was too wet to sort.

Hopefully if it ever stops raining this week, I'll be able to fill the gaps - just using bathroom silicone sealant. Hope it'll do the trick.

Not much fun lying in the boot though!
