Looking for bright ideas !!!!!
#1
Dear all,
Not a very interesting topic I'm afraid, but important to me.
I have an 8 month old STi8.
The lights on my rear number plate are not working.
I have done the simple things like checking the bulbs and the wire connections to the light units but they are all OK.
Checked the manual to see if it could be a fuse, but can't see a fuse for these lights.
Anyone got any bright ideas.
Cheers
Simon

There should be a fuse for these lights, though they may be linked in with another low power circuit.
Has anything else stopped working?
I'll try and take a look at mine tonight and let you know if I find anything useful.

Just checked mine, to find that one of them wasn't working!
Swift tap to the rear bumper and it started working again, suggesting a dodgey connection somewhere in.near the rear bumper.
Had a look at the fuse info on the handbook too - nothing, as you said. I would make a guess that the numberplate lights are on the rear sidelights loom - if they're working okay, then it isn't the fuse.

Thanks for trying.
Have managed to fix it this evening.
Dodgy connection - removed the interior plastic panel in the boot and played around with the wiring for the number plate. Hey presto the lights came on!!!
