Apologies for posting it in here, just need as many people to see as poss.

Is there an idiots guide to fitting STI rear clusters on Scoobynet?? i.e wiring the foglight into one of the reverse lights.

Have tried the search facility but it brings up loads of irrelevent topics or ones with 2/3 replies

Did this recently, pretty straight forward really.

1) Undo connectors.

2) Unscrew two nuts on inside, lights will be stuck fast with tigerseal, so hit the bolts on the inside with a hammer to loosen.

3) Then pull out the rest of the way, the gooey stuff gets everywhere so be careful.

4) Wiring is straight forward. You need the original fog light feed from the loom connecting to the reverse light input on the light. So you only need to cut two wires and join them together. See pic below...

5) Re-seal around edges of lights and re-insert.

I think thats it

Right, finally fitted them this morning and the cluster currently looks like this....

The brown wire was already cut so what do I need to do with it??? And as theres currently no bulb in, I gather you can buy fog light bulbs that will flash red????

I've bought red fog lightbulbs before from a car spares place (cheap). take the bulb that came out of that holder so you can see what the fitting is like!
Hope this helps ya

Lightbulb

seems like you have different colour wires to the pic above
cant you flick the fog light on and test each terminal on the plug to see which ones have power going to them with a meter?? Might have to do this a few times with the fog light off and on so you dont get confused with the normal rear light
i'm no electrician (and have not fitted STI rears) so could be talking rubbish!
hope this helps

you don't have to cut & join any wires for the foglight. if you have a look at the wiring cluster on the back of the sti lamp you will notice 2 empty block connecters on the end. simply unpick the 2 connecters that opperate the reverse light & click them into the 2 empty blocks. as the car loom has the foglight wires on the end. hey presto your foglight works without cutting wires.
