Whilst fitting my JDM mirrors yesterday i uncovered a lone connector that didn't seem to go anywhere...

Anybody know what it's purpose is?
EDIT: it's in the centre console beside the handbrake and it attached to the same section of looom as the mirror-control harness.

Is it not the connector that goes to the adjustable diff on some Japanese models? Like a lot of manufacturers, Subaru make one loom that has all the options covered. Its amazing how many "spare" connectors there are on the entire wiring loom.
with the terminals like that it would appear to be two position switch (either latching or non-latching) but not a three position rocker switch (which could be used for powering left or right mirror)
you say you've sorted all the wiring out for the mirrors? is it a switch to power up the adjuster motors, i.e. turn on power to them before adjusting so you don't accidently move them?
or...
ejector seat switch?

Ejector seat.

I'm confident i have all the wiring for the mirrors covered (to JDM spec anyway), unless there was an option related to the mirror control on UK cars other than the basic adjustment functions...?
I did think it may be handbrake related but the dash-light works as it should?
I'll try electrically testing it tommorow, see if i can spark
a reaction.
Btw, if anyone wants to pop out their mirror-adjust switch and have a look in their car.... that'd be nice.

Could there be an aftermarket armrest glovebox light ? or maybe an auxiliary 12v supply kit for the glove box ?
Have you had an opportunity to test for voltages with a meter when switching ignition / lighting etc ?
Could it be a start inhibitor circuit for an auto box ?
Last suggestion pretend its not there by hiding inder carpet

Well Carl I had the centre console out yesterday in my MY98 wagon cos I changed the heater matrix..... guess what I have the same connector . I've looked in the wiring diagram and can't see it either. I'll let you know if I get to the bottom of it

Nice one Steve, lmao @ pretending it isn't there if it's for the autobox.
Have been away from homw for the past 2 weeks but will test it the first chance i get (and once the weather clears...
