Fuel gauge acting the goat

Over the weekend the gauge in my 95 turbo has been falling to empty then almost emidiatly raising to the normal level i checked wiring from what i can see from lifting the rear seat jut wondering if anyone had come accross this prob before any help appreciated

I'm sure there are many people who would like to have this problem, especially when the ignition is switched off!
The likeliest cause of this is a dodgy fuel level sender. If there was a problem with the wiring (going open circuit), the gauge would just stick where it is and not move at all.
