Question

How the hell do I change the bulb ?

You will have to take the lens off to access the bulb its only held on by one screw should take a couple off minutes

I take it its the screw on top of the light unit.

take no notice about the thread above i read it wrong sorry.
You should be able to access the bulb by taking off the rear cover in the engine compartment usually have to turn it 45 degrees to gain access then just pull the bulb out, hope this helps.

Finally manged to figure it out (easy when you read the handbook !) One screw and then pull

griffm: lucky for me no rust, but my old man who owns a very nice 1966 MG swears by waxoil so maybe worth investing in a tin.

When you have the sidelight out do you spot corrosion below the sidelight ?. I need to do some remedial work to protect this in future.
