Hello all, heres a problem for you all...

I disconnected my battery with the dim lights on to reset the ECU after 10 mins I connected it again and seem to have done something. If I have my lights on the ignition cuts! I turn the lights off and the car starts fine soon as I switch the lights on the ignition cuts unless I have a door open when I shut the door the ignition cuts!?!?!

What the hell is going on here? could it be something to do with my alarm? To get around this problem I have dissconected the door pin and put a wire to earth. Thus fooling the car into thinking the door is open all the time and I can drive my car after dark.

I just dont get it.

Question

Sounds very odd. Have you tried resetting the ECU again? if not could you try resetting the ECU with all the lights off, with the black and green plugs connected to see what happens?.

Cheers Bruce, I have tried that minus the plug. I dont have a plug as the fault is on an Evo.

I think it must be an earth problem somewhere, looks like i'll have to visit the alarm installer tomorrow. failing that an auto electrician.
