Gauge wiring ..... utter electrical novice!
#1
Right.........
Got a lovely shiny new boost gauge, plumbed it in on Saturday, fitted pod, etc (smug grin)
The gauge has a wire to link into the power for "lights-on" backlighting. Bearing in mind I have wired in nothing more unusual than a pair of amplifiers....... where do I need to splice this connection in? and..... how do I identify I've got the correct wire.. I might be being naive but I'm hoping to not have to dismantle the whole dash console - (plumbed boost gauge in with cunning use of exisiting gaps in dash and a length of stiff wire!!!)
Much appreciate any advice!

I just took the lower section of the dash off - the part under steering wheel column. I think you will find the wiring harness there that switches the lights on. You need to find the switchable wire when lights are on (voltmeter would be real handy).... What year is your car - i will try and have a look at mine tonight to find what colour the wire is if you like ?

That would be fantastic!!!
I've got a voltmeter and a fairly electrically minded father, but if I could do it myself I'd be delighted.
It's a '99..........
Thanks!!

Yes - the purple wire is just for the switch illumination, and is used for the boost gauge illumination because it is only live with the lights on.
