Unhappy

Recently bought a scooby with PIAA s fitted, only they dont work. I have checked the fuses and all seems fine, where is the relay and how can I check it ? Is there anything else that could be a problem.

I think they should come on with full beam but having no joy.
I have also tried the front fog light switch, again, no joy!

Question

Assume you tried front fog switch on and high beams on, that's how they should be wired and were wired on my MY00.

Not being funny, but have you checked the bulbs?

And find where the lights are earthed, mine stopped working when the earth to body connection had become corroded.

Could be that, to be honest I only had a quick look at the fuses, I kind of presumed if it was a bulb it would only be one. I will check them tomorrow. I thought maybe there could be a problem with a relay or something.

There is also a fuse inside the relay which you may like to check

Any ideas where this fuse/relay is. Dont mean to sound stupid but is there one actually in the relay. I have checked the one between the battery and the relay. I guess its time to get a test light out and see how far the power gets (if anywhere!).

The relay could be anywhere under the bonnet. It quite large and white so should be fairly easy to find if you follow all the leads from the battery. If it has been fitted properly you will not find an inline fuse holder as that isn't part of the harness supplied. As the relay is fused internally an inline fuse is not needed.

Just to add to Mikes comments, the relay box is white with PIAA on it, so shouldn't be hard to miss.

On RB5's it's behind the nearside headlamp. On other cars I've seen them mounted to the right of the IC (again nearside) just near the bulkhead.

Mine was fitted in the same place on my MY00, pretty hard to miss!
