Anyone else got a MY96 sti import? Is is standard that these are built without a low fuel warning light?

Any anyone done a mod to rectify this?

Yeo they are all like that (UK or import) until they changed the dash in 98. I use the trip meter to tell when i need to fill up. After two and a bit years i've got it down to a fine art.
