Question

Have been considering HID for my Morette equipped uk99, I see that Scoobysport now stock a fitting for the H4 dipped....has anyone tried this?

Does anyone know if these work in the 'classic' Morette?

Cheers.

I use Scoobysport's HID conversion on my MY01 with Morrette's. Not sure of all the details, but I'd give 'em a ring and check. I reckon you might be OK.

How much are they, Regal do a kit for various headlight types, at under £500 complete. Never went for them yet tho. £500 is a lot for a couple of bulbs. Just havent convinced myself I need them

Yes it is the Scoobysport kit I was thinking of, I have mailed Pete and he tells me things do fit and they work very well

Stevie, they are about £420 for the pair I think I NEED them as I cant see much at night with halogens!!!

(im ok with main beam but other people get the hump).

Cool

MD: post if you get 'em and when they're up and running please, as I've got the HID driving lights, and if I win the Lotto, I'd love to uprate the main AND the dip in my Morettes.

Wow, I need to check this forum a bit more often

I havnt got them yet, not in stock...had to order

I also find dip on Morettes a bit scarey when coming off main beam (pretty good), It takes me a while to retune to the light levels...but then I am getting old

Will post up when the job is done and (I hope) let you all know how good they are!!!

TB, you sorted out now re having to sell?

MD,

Not sure work is a little dodge at the moment, am trying to hold off selling as long as I can until we know for deffo what is happening, I would be totally gutted if I sold now, spent so much turning the car into something I wanted it to be, plus its running like a dream at the mo.

Let me know how you get on with the hid upgrades, like to have a look at some stage, like you I also hate dropping from mains to dips even with morettes its not enough.

come up to the surrey meet on sunday be nice to see you

MD,

Work in IT, am a software tester.

If you look here:

http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=123926

directions to the meet are there, if you are coming up we could meet up at Godstone and go up together if you like?

Ninja,

there are two companies who make dual beam H4s for the classic shape but they afrent cheap at around £700.

They are beloff and target. Imported by the same company called C.A.Automotive.

Hope this helps!

TB, Does that mean you play computer games all day ???

I'm sure you will be ok, there MUST be a requirement for your skills within another company if it becomes necessary!!!

Dont forget, it always looks grim when we are forced to make a move...human nature says that we dont like 'change' so it always seems worse than it is.

Sorry if I'm going on...goes with getting old(er)

Could we meet at the garage that we did the exhaust deal in ?

If so time???

Regards, Andy....might be easier if you mail me, whatever

Best o luck!

Lol - I wish, they pay me to look at Scoobynet all day more like

Hope so mate, am sure it will work itself out in the end, just looks a little dodgy at the moment, we can discuss on Sunday!

Yep, that sounds fine with me, shall we say 11am? That would get us up there for about 1140 for a cup of tea - You still got my number?

Ninja,

The number you are looking for is on the link that Adam put up for you!

Very easy to fit....

Just going out now to blind everyone and/or adjust as necessary

Certainly very bright, and very white light. But from my brief view of them, the biggest difference is that you dazzle passing airbusses, boeing 737s, etc...

MD - got em pointing in the right direction yet? Don't let em wind you up, chill with the vodka.

lol Hades

Yeah, they are getting better, ended up 'letting off' all the adjusters so the lenses were almost flat to the plastic housing, then went out in the dark...not too bad but a wee bit low.

Spent a bit of time up the lane and brought them up a bit...now they 'blind' the oncoming cars very slightly at the very last second that they pass the car.

It would seem that there is a spurious light 'bar' on each side of each lamp, cant understand at present why that is...got 'cheesed off' again and came home, more tomorrow I spose

But to let you know Steven, they are very bright, yellow and blue and white depending where you look (angle), I will let you know the full sp when they are finally done
