As an option on a car are they worth it over normal headlights? (this is not on a scoob, and they are £315 as a listed option) I do a large percentage of my driving in the dark, so am planning on getting them, but looking for second opinions by people who have actual had them on a car.

They are a £900 option on our Audi, luckily we didn't pay that as it was an 2nd hand car but the lights are the best we have ever driven with at night and would consider them on a new car ..

They come as standard on the 172. The difference between xenons and normal head lights is...well, like night and day!
If you can afford them buy them, even if it does mean someone flashes you occasionally!

Mate, get them, they are AWESOME!! The analogy of night and day is accurate.
I think, however, that Xenons are only legal in this country on dipped beam, and then only with automatic headlight levelling. I have been in a P1 with gas-discharge mains, and BLIMEY!!

I've got 'em on the Scoob Used with the Morrette headlamp conversion on an MY01. They took a fair bit of setting up (to make sure you are not blinding other road users), but they are worth having. They are certainly brighter, but for me the biggest advantage is the 'type' of light they produce. It is much more natural and much easier on the eye (from the driver's point of view). It makes driving at night, especially down unlit roads much less stressful. On many occassions, you don't need to use full beam If you really want to increase the light output, fit some of Pete Croney's Xenon driving lamps!
