Default Clock fuse. Wrx wagon blob 2003.

Hi. Any one shed some light on this please. After starting the engine I noticed the radio was dead. Also the clock was out. I naturally thought a blown fuse. So carried on driving for ten mins or so,parked up went to lock car with the fob and nothing totally dead, got back in car to try and start and it was completely dead nothing what so ever, the onl thing that worked was the parking light switch on top of the steering column. So after checking terminals etc etc. I found the clock fuse had blown this is a 15 amp fuse. Seems a bit high for a clock? Does this in anyway be a fuse that powers the immobiliser? As soon as new fuse in alarm beeped and all well fired up perfect just had to reset radio and clock any ideas? Thanks...
