Default Classic Headlight Upgrade

Was out for a drive the other evening and how terrible the headlights are on my MY00 classic really started to irritate me. It was dusk so i found i was really straining my eyes to focus and found i wasnt enjoying the drive as a result. Even on full beam they are rubbish. And I always have the fogs on also.

What bulbs are people using that offer an improvement? I'm not looking for a HID kit.

But you will need ceramic bulb holders. No problem with NCT or MOT even though it says for off road only. If lights are correctly adjusted they don't dazzle anyone.

Thanks I might try those. Might get some of those bulbs for my fog lights too. Ceramic bulb holders much hassle to change?

If you hoke about on ebay their on there plug and play don't try without them you'll melt the plug that goes on the bulb. Also I personally don't sit stationary with the headlights on full bean they generate a lot of heat.

Nope.........HID Xenon conversions on an H4 are the spawn of the devil. There is NO WAY they can work properly, look at the physics.

Far brighter, yes, but uncontrolled and with so much scatter you'll annoy 90% of oncoming motorists.

Cue Scooby doo to come on and say his work perfectly, lol

lol very funny, yeah they do work and very well , and sailed the m.o.t , hella make xenon headlights for this model but with very large price tag to go with it. Your right that most xenon conversion kits are rubbish but you got to get good quality so you don't blind most of the oncomeing vehicals pluss make sure you get them properly aligned:-)

to be honest i wouldnt consider HIDs they emit loads of light yes but the lack of focus and glare is maddening, i always hate driving against someone that has them fitted and i dont want to inflict the same on others.

Me too. I did try them, not even in a cr@ppy Subaru headlight, but in the main/dips of a Morette setup, so Cibie lights.

They were awful! Sold to me by an ex-trader on here who swore by them. I gave them to one of the local lads and within weeks he had notice to remove them from plod.
